designare did not begin with the intention of becoming a brand.
It began as a place to collect and share the things we were drawn to — images, interiors, architecture, music, objects, people and places. Things with character. Things that felt considered, personal or simply worth remembering.
Over time, those references began to form a world of their own.
At some point, it felt natural to stop only looking at that world and begin contributing to it.
That is where designare is now.
We are beginning to make things of our own. Apparel and objects are the first physical expressions, but the idea has never been limited to either. Music, spaces, gatherings and collaborations are all part of the same project.
designare is rooted in Iceland, not necessarily through obvious symbols, but through the environment around us — Reykjavík, its buildings, swimming pools, restaurants, weather, music, materials and everyday rituals. The things we live with naturally become part of what we make.
This is not a finished idea, and we don’t want it to be.
designare will continue to evolve as new people, places and ideas become part of it.
For now, this is simply the point where something that has existed mostly through references and ideas begins to take physical form.
